LAPE is currently undertaking a strategic business expansion focused on increasing processing capacity, diversifying value chains, and strengthening its role in agricultural markets.

The company is investing in new large-scale processing machinery, including equipment for a new rice value chain, as part of its diversification strategy. In parallel, LAPE has begun collaborating with farmer cooperatives under the PRIDE Project, positioning itself as a reliable offtaker for a range of agricultural commodities and supporting inclusive market access for smallholder farmers.

In addition, LAPE is installing oil expellers and other agro-processing machinery at its facilities in Kanengo Area 55. This expansion also includes the development of a new factory complex, which will accommodate both production operations and the company’s Head Office, enhancing efficiency, coordination, and growth capacity.

Through these investments, LAPE continues to diversify beyond its existing commodity value chains, reinforcing its commitment to value addition, sustainable agro-processing, employment creation, and long-term economic development in Malawi.
