LAPE has strategically mobilized Youth and women into structured crop production associations across multiple districts in Malawi to strengthen inclusive commercial agriculture. The Mkanda Soybean Producers Association (2,400 members) comprises 54% women and 30% youth; the Kakoma Estate Sunflower Out-growers Scheme (3,411 members) includes 60% women and 40% youth; and the Mikute Cassava Producers Association (4,290 members) has 35% women and 55% youth.

The approach positions youth and women as business partners rather than beneficiaries by providing revolving input loan facilities (improved seeds, inoculants, agro-chemicals, herbicides), delivering extension support through a Lead Business Partner Model, and building technical capacity through training in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). This model strengthens productivity, commercial orientation, and financial sustainability.
