LAPE delivers multidisciplinary consultancy services across agriculture, water and sanitation (WASH), energy, health, education, climate change, public finance, governance, and social protection. Its consultancy work includes policy reviews and development, independent technical audits and verifications, feasibility and economic analyses, project design, monitoring and evaluation (baseline, mid-term, and end-line studies), value chain and market analyses, institutional and organizational assessments, and performance verification for results-based financing. LAPE has successfully supported government institutions, development partners, and regional bodies through complex, large-scale, and high-impact assignments in Malawi and beyond. 

LAPE's experience is extensive in providing technical and economic consultancy for large-scale development projects, primarily in Malawi. Key areas include:

• Independent Verification & Auditing: Served as an Independent Verifier for Performance-Based Grants in watershed management and conducted technical audits for the Social Cash Transfer Programme.

• Economic & Financial Analysis: Provided independent economic services for the Shire River Basin Agency, including hydro-economic modeling and water resources valuation.

• Policy Development: Facilitated the review and revision of the National Water Policy (2005), including the development of a costed implementation plan.

• Feasibility Studies: Conducted technical and economic feasibility studies for sanitation and sewerage projects in Mzuzu City and assessed the creation of a Water Fund for Blantyre and Mount Mulanje.

• Strategy Formulation: Developed a Resource Mobilization Strategy for the NAC HIV Pool Fund and a National Fisheries and Aquaculture Communication Strategy.
